The Modern Heirloom Kitchen Suite: Handcrafted Walnut or Cherry Collection

Elevate your kitchen with a cohesive set of functional art. This premium collection is meticulously handcrafted from solid American Black Walnut, accented with signature stripes of Maple and African Padauk. Or Classic American Cherry with walnut and ambrosia Maple accents

Every piece in this suite highlights the authentic beauty of the timber. We believe nature provides the best palette, which is why we use no stains or dyes. The rich chocolates, creamy ivories, and vibrant corals you see are the true colors of the wood, brought to life and protected with Gilboys Hard Wax Oil. This high-end finish provides a durable, silky-smooth sheen that is food-safe and easy to maintain, ensuring these pieces remain "Modern Heirlooms" for generations

Why Natural Wood & Hard Wax Oil?
By choosing a natural wax oil finish over polyurethane or stains, we preserve the "breathability" and tactile warmth of the wood. Gilboys Hard Wax Oil doesn't just sit on top; it bonds with the fibers to enhance the grain depth.
• Eco-Friendly: No harsh chemicals or synthetic dyes.
• Authentic Color: The Padauk will naturally deepen into a rich burgundy over time, while the Walnut maintains its classic elegance.
• Heirloom Quality: Unlike mass-produced plastic or veneered containers, these solid wood pieces can be buffed and refreshed for decades to come.

Choosing Your Backing: Standard vs. Island Style
Because we build for both functionality and aesthetic versatility, we offer two distinct backing options for our Kitchen Suite items—specifically for the bread box and canister sets.
Standard Back (Birch Plywood)
The Standard Back is designed for items that will live against a backsplash or wall.
• Construction: We use a high-quality, cabinet-grade Birch Plywood.
• The Benefit: Birch plywood is incredibly stable and resistant to warping, making it the perfect choice for traditional countertop placement.
• Aesthetics: The back is finished with the same care as the rest of the piece, but since it is plywood, it will not feature the heavy grain patterns or the signature Maple/Padauk stripes found on the front and sides. It’s a cost-effective choice for those who don’t plan on showing off the rear of the cabinet.
Island Back (Solid Wood)
The Island Back is a premium upgrade for kitchens where the woodshop pieces are the centerpiece of an island, a peninsula, or an open-concept counter.
• Construction: We replace the plywood with Solid American Black Walnut or Cherry, matching your primary wood choice.
• The Benefit: This version is "finished in the round." If your bread box sits on a kitchen island where people walk around it, they will see a continuous, beautiful wood grain from every single angle.

Built for the Heart of the Home: A Legacy of Faith and Family
In our home, the kitchen has always been more than just a place to prep a meal—it’s the sanctuary where the day’s burdens are set down and the family’s spirit is refilled. It’s where we gather for Sunday dinners, where we pray over our children, and where stories are passed down from one generation to the next.
I believe the items you use to serve your family should be as enduring as the values you teach them.
Handcrafted with Purpose
When I’m in the shop, I often think about where these pieces will end up. I don't just see a bread box or a salt cellar; I see a vessel that will sit on your counter for decades, witnessing the quiet breakfasts and the loud, joyful holiday feasts.
My faith guides my hands in every cut and every join. I use solid American Black Walnut, Maple, and African Padauk because God’s creation doesn’t need a drop of stain or dye to be beautiful. By finishing each piece with Gilboys Hard Wax Oil, I’m simply protecting the natural character that was already there—much like how we try to nurture the unique spirit in each of our children and grandchildren.
Why We Create "Modern Heirlooms"
• A Meeting Place: The kitchen table is the altar of the home. These items are designed to bring a sense of warmth and permanence to your gathering space.
• Built to Last: In a world of "disposable" goods, we build for longevity. These pieces are meant to be passed down to your children’s children, carrying the memories of your family dinners with them.
• Authentic Materials: We use only natural woods. The vibrant colors you see are honest and true, reflecting the integrity we strive for in our business and our lives.
"For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything." — Hebrews 3:4
